The math, plainly
Well Dealt answers one question: which credit card actually pays you the most, in dollars, for the way you spend.
What we run
Four things, held to.
The whole product is one honest number and the arithmetic behind it. These are the rules that keep it honest.
One number, with the receipt
We apply each card’s real earn rates to your spending, add the bonus you would realistically earn, subtract the fee, and show every line of it.
Rankings are pure math, never sold
Cards are ordered by what they are worth to you. Whether a card pays us has zero weight. Several cards we rank first pay us nothing at all.
The ethics screen
We refuse to list fee-trap cards, the kind built to profit from people rebuilding credit, even when they pay the highest commissions in the industry.
Nothing about you is stored
No account, no signup. Your answers live in the address of your results page and nowhere else, so your link opens the same result for anyone.
Where the numbers come from
Every rate, fee, and bonus is collected from the issuer’s own website or public documents, and each card carries the date we last verified it. A script re-reads those pages every day and tells us when a figure we publish is no longer printed on the page we took it from. It is a tripwire, not a second opinion: it watches some of each card’s numbers, never all of them, and a card page says how many. Nothing it finds reaches the site until a person has re-read the issuer. Points are valued at conservative cash-equivalent rates, which we state as estimates. Offers change without notice, so always confirm the current terms on the issuer’s site before applying.
How we make money
No card on this site pays us today. If that ever changes, the card’s own page will say so. Rankings are pure math, never sold. Compensation can affect which cards we are able to link to directly, and Well Dealt does not include every credit card available on the market. Where we cannot link to a card, we still show it when it earns its spot. The full picture is in our Advertiser Disclosure.
Who we are
Well Dealt is independent and founder-run, based in New York. No bank owns us, funds us, or reviews our rankings. We built this because the information was free everywhere and the experience was terrible everywhere.
